- 2005: World Champion in the 125cc class and the sixth youngest World Champion in history.
- 2007: Moves up to the 250cc class.
- 2010: Switches to the Moto2 class and finishes fourth in the overall standings
- 2011: Wins the race in Malaysia and ends the season as fifth overall.
- 2016: Wins the Grand Prix in Qatar, Great Britain, Japan, and Australia and finishes runner-up in the Moto2 class.
- 2017: Wins the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic and San Marino, and finishes runner-up again.
- 2019: Wins the Grand Prix of the USA and finishes third in the championship.
- 2021: Announces his retirement at the end of the season after a successful career in international motorcycle racing
